Something to make in the crockpot for supper tomorrow..?!
Answers: It will cook for about 8 hours.. any ideas?
CROCK POT CHICKEN CACCIATORE
3-4 lbs boneless/skinless thighs and breasts
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 large red or green bell peppers, sliced
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon each basil and oregano
1 (6oz) can tomato paste
fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 bay leaves
1 8 oz can stewed tomatoes with chiles
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups burgundy wine
Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling before serving
Place sliced onions on bottom of crock pot. Add chicken.
Stir together remaining ingredients and pour over chicken.
Cook on low 7-9 hours or high 3-4 hours. Serve over pasta, with a salad on the side.
corned beef or pot roast. just add water plug in when you go to bed and in the morning it is done.
Make a stew, but leave the vegetables ready until you get home.

Get a pork shoulder. Soak in a brine overnight, then rub with barbecue spices. Cook on low with 1 to 2 cups thinned molasses or pure maple syrup in the bottom.
Chicken, sausage and rice soup...
2 pds chicken thighs cut into cubes
sausage...you can use any kind of cooked sausage, I like andoulli (sp), but you can even use the turkey sausage you find in the regular grocery...I usually use 1.5 packages.
3 celery chopped
4 carrots chopped
1 white onion cut into eights
5 cups of water
5 tbls chicken bullion granules
1 can of stewed tomatoes
Put it in the crockpot on low for 8 hrs.
Add cooked rice at the end of the cooking time.
It's really yummy, it's my Mom's favorite, I make it for her birthday.
I have TONs of great recipes.
1) ribs. I grill them first just for a couple mins on both sides to brown them. I then cut up a sweet onion and put at bottom of crock pot. Put ribs over. Season. Add your favorite BBQ sauce, a T of honey and a T of brown sugar. Cook for 8-10 hrs on low. They fall right off the bone! YUM
2)Take a chuck roast. Cut up carrots, onion and small potatoes. In bowl mix packet of onion soup mix (the kind you used to make chip dip) a can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 1/2 cups of burgandy wine and if you want a can of diced tomatoes. Pour 1/4 into crock pot. Put roast in. Put veggies all around roast. Pour rest of liquid on top of veggies and roast. Season with your fav seasonings. Again cook on low 8-10 hours. Very tender flavorful meat!
3) get stew meat, 1 can kidney beans, 1 can garbanzo beans, 2 cans mixed veggies, 1 can corn, 1 can whole peeled tomatoes, 1 can diced or sliced potatoes. 1 bottle of your fav beer and one can of beef broth
I first brown the meat and potatoes in butter on the stove top.
Drain all veggies EXCEPT tomatoes. put all veggies and meat, including juice from tomatos, can of beef broth and your fav beer all into crock pot. I add pepper, italian sesonings, chili powder and a little salt and garlic salt.
Cook on low 8-10 hours.
Serve with a loaf of french bread!

then when its done cooking make mashed potatoes with it!

Take a slab of chuck roast and cut off excess fat. Take one or two packets of Liptons Instant Onion Soup packets and rub it on the roast. Cut of potatos and carrots and throw it in the pot.
