What is cream in India? Is it whip cream?!
Answers: I was looking for chicken makhani recipe online and found out that this cook adds cream to his chicken. That cream doesn't look like whip cream so I don't know what he is adding. Please help me what cream is in india and let me know if you can buy this cream in US grocery stores!!
If they didn't specify what kind of cream it was, it's probably heavy whipping cream.
it is not whipping cream at all!! In India , the cream they use is taken by boiling and soildifying milk, it doesnt have any sugar or spices added to it, please do not use whipping cream, the closest you could probably come to the Indian version would be the cream you would buy from department stores, the type you would add to your coffee, but to get the best results, I would suggest visiting an Indian grocery store and asking for "malai" which would be the Indian cream you are looking to add to the recipe. It is called paneer and is easily available in any Indian grocery store, the term would be paneer prounced as in "veneer" , good luck!!
