Through in some Peanut butter into the batter

Use additional flavors of chips

Use some oatmeal in the batter

Just experiment with anything that is what I do and if it doesn't turn out oh well it was cheap to make and usually they are not so bad that no one will eat them!

Add some toffee chips OR peanut butter chips....

Pecans

If you have access to them, there are now festive holiday colored chocolate chips on the market that can be substituted for some of the standard chocolate chips in a recipe.

Add different spices/other flavorings, such as cinnamon, or, one of my favorites, allspice. You can try a teaspoon of any kind of liquor or extract; I recommend rum, creme de menthe, or peppermint extract. Get creative--there's an almost endless variety of flavorings to try.
