You can add different vegetables. you can have whole mushrooms, boiled eggs(you leave them whole too do not cut them up) zuchini, black olives, fresh garlic sliced and sauteed, green peppers, onions, use angel hair pasta or another pasta you like.. This will make it different.

That depends on what your recipe was to begin with. Whenever I make spaghetti, I season the meat while I'm cooking, that seems to give it just the right amount of spices.

If you can use fresh spices, versus the dried spices that will add more flavor without going overboard. Add your spices just a little at a time until you get it just how you want (I do just a pinch at a time). Fresh garlic, basil and oregeno are the best. Go easy on the salt, just use a little to help bring out the flavor of the other ingredients.

A really good recipe takes time to develop. My family loves my homemade sauce, but it took me several times to get it just right.

I get raves over my new version, I use chicken. I use skinless chicken thighs and cut them into pieces and cook them in olive oil and fresh garlic. When the chicken is done I add Prego spaghetti Sauce with Sausage and then I add two table spoons of Sun Dried Tomato Pesto Sauce, it makes all the difference in the world! and instead of using spaghetti I use Linguini and trust me this stuff doesn't make it to tomorrow! I use six thighs and one small jar of Prego for my small family so if you have to guessimate for your family if its larger feel free. I forgot, do add Basil, fresh or dry, if using dry add about 1/4 tsp. first and then taste it if you can't taste it add another 1/4 and that may do the trick. But there is nothing better than Basil!
