Have you ever tried to use frozen brown sugar?!

Question: My mother in law keeps her extra packages in the freezer and while she is in the hospital I thought I would bake some cookies. But the brown sugar is solid as a rock!! Is there a good way to thaw it besides waiting? And will it ever soften up? HELP!

Get a good hammer. Wrap the brown sugar in heavy plastic and WHACK IT hard enough to break the 'rock' into 'pebbles' ... then go watch TV for an hour, and when you get back, your 'pebbles' should be thawed and ready to use.

put it in a microwave

I put mine in the microwave to thaw it

I sometimes freeze my brown sugar. It does thaw out and you can use it just the same as fresh. Not sure how to rush the process because if you do rush it, moisture will be lost. You could try to break off what you think you will need and microwave that little bit. Just in 20 to 30 second intervals, until thawed enough to use.

Yeah. When frozen, I chop it into some version of a sugar cube. I use them in my coffee, add chocolate syrup and Voila!, mocha latte.

Ha ha NO not fair...
I would imagine that even if you waited for it to thaw it would be a brick,,, Freezing squeezes the moisture out,,...
