Are lumberjacks really as hungry as they're portrayed?!

Question: Like do they really sit down and eat a whole stack of flapjacks with a pound of butter, or not?
(If not, then what do they eat?)

Well, I've never met a real lumberjack. But I know some carpenters/yard maintenance ppl and it takes a lot of fuel to keep them going, because their jobs are so physically demanding. They prolly could eat a whole stack of flapjacks, with eggs, meat, etc.

Well, their work is extremely physical, and it is sometimes very cold. It takes a LOT of fuel to keep them going.

Yes, some do exactly that! These are folks who work very hard, and they often burn six to ten thousand calories a day. Trouble begins when they move on to less physically demanding jobs and don't cut down on their eating.
