Ginger Tropical Smoothie
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup pineapple juice
1/2 banana
1/4 to 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger root
1/2 cup crushed ice
Add all ingredients to blender and process until smooth.
Morning Sunrise Smoothie
1 banana, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup of strawberries
1/2 cup of orange juice
1/2 cup crushed ice
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
Kiwi strawberry Smoothie Recipe
3 peeled kiwi
1 cup frozen banana slices
3/4 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
Blend until smooth.
** Soy milk, tofu or fiber is an option that can be used instead of milk or yogurt. **
Use water not milk then
mango tango smoothie
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup frozen banana chunks
1 cup pineapple sherbet
1 1/2 cups frozen mango slices
mix liquid ingredients in blender first then add frozen ingredients until smooth.
Berry blast smoothie
1 cup apple juice
1 1/2 cups lemonade
1 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup raspberry sherbet

I almost never use dairy in my smoothies. I sometimes add plain yogurt for a protein boost, but only rarely.
I find that bananas add creaminess. For the liquid, use fruit juice or water. I drink soymilk plain, but don't like it in my smoothies. I like a Tablespoon or so of ground flaxmeal blended in, too.
If I'm blending just for me (about 12 - 16 ounces), here's the amounts in the order I add them to the blender jar: 1/2 cup fruit juice or water; 2 small (apple or ladyfinger) or 1 large banana; 1 - 1 1/2 cups frozen fruit. If it's not thick enough I add a few ice cubes and re-blend. Be sure to add in this order: liquid, soft (fresh or canned) fruits, frozen fruits, then ice. Makes it easier on your blender.
I like the peach mango flavor of that new V8 fusion juice or oj. I use the frozen fruits from costco - plain strawberries or the tropical mix with papaya, mango, pineapple, and strawberries.
2 frozen bananas - (the frozen banana makes it thick like a shake)
1 cup orange juice
1 cup frozen strawberries
Blend together.
Any kind of fruit that you like can be used, this makes a good breakfast too.
To freeze the bananas, just peel and slice and throw into ziplock bags and put in the freezer, then they are always ready when you need them.
