What is good for a mid-day meal in UK for winter? Any receipe?!
Answers: Today randomly in ASDA I've tried mashed potato with turkey. The turkey was cooked with some sause. There was options on cooked carrots and fried potatos and chips. I liked it. But anyone got any other good ideas for mid-day meals? I don't know the receipe, so would be useful if you have it handy.
Omelettes with chopped vegetables (onion, green onion, spinach, mushrooms, peppers, etc.) are fast and easy and take any number of condiments well.
You cant go wrong with stew and bread at this time of the year. Just chuck a load of veg in a pot and add stock. Cook and serve with bread.Done

You've just reminded me - to turn the gas off from under my very large pan containing....:
Two lamb shanks and four lamb leg-steaks each cut into four pieces, three carrots, two parsnips, one turnip, six medium sized onions and two medium potatoes, all cut into smallish pieces or slices, some tomato puree, some garlic puree, a spoonful of dried mixed herbs, three lamb stock cubes and a couple of pints of water. I put them on at 3 this afternoon, brought the pan to a simmer, then left it on a very low gas until you just reminded me to turn it off - three hours and 45 minutes later - although it wouldn't have come to any harm if I'd left it a lot longer - but when I'm ready, that will make quite a number of good-sized portions either to serve right away or to freeze ! ! !
