Holiday treats for a few gifts!?!
Answers: I want to make some treats as a little add on to some gifts for family members. I want some easy ideas for a sweet treat that you love to make or eat. Ha! Thank you and Merry Christmas.
my sister always buys the long pretzel stix and dips one end of each one in either white choc or milk choc and sprinkles colored sugar on them they are very yummy. she ties a few together with a ribbon kinda like a bouquet.
Cookies are always a delight, especially if they're a little different then the usual fare. Something that you might consider for family members are homemade sugar cookies cut into shapes, frosted with their name on it. Attach to gifts as name cards.
Cookies are good, but you can also make candy. Peanut butter balls are always good at Christmas time, as well as English Toffee. I get a lot of my ideas and recipes from http://ww.allrecipes.com I know they have the peanut butter balls and English Toffee recipes. I usually make Sugar Cookies and decorate them with butter cream frosting, and the other cookie I make is:
BUTTERSCOTCH COCONUT COOKIES
Yield: 4 dozen cookies
1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
? tsp baking powder
? tsp baking soda
? cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
? cup granulated sugar
? cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 large egg
? tsp vanilla extract
1 ? cups sweetened shredded dried coconut
1 ? cups butterscotch chips
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Have ready 2 baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together onto a sheet of waxed paper; set aside.
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on high speed, cream the butter until fluffy and pale yellow. Add the granulated and brown sugars and continue beating until the mixture is no longer gritty when rubbed between your finger and thumb. Add the egg and vanilla and beat on low speed until blended, occasionally stopping the mixer and scraping down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix on low speed or stir with a wooden spoon just until blended. Add the coconut and butterscotch chips, mixing or stirring just until blended.
With dampened hands, shape the dough into 1-inch balls or drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
Bake the cookies until golden brown around the edges, about 15 minutes. Let the cookies cool briefly on the pans on wire racks before transferring them to the racks to cool completely.
the man down the road from us is an amish cheese maker. he always gives us TONS of cheese every year at christmas time, so that we can give it out as gifts too.
Fudge. It is actually quite easy to make and I don't know of many people that don't like fudge.
u can layer all the dry ingredients in a mason jar and attach a card to the jar that has cooking directions and which wet ingredients to add to the mix. this works for cookies, brownies, and cakes

I HAVE IT!! and you dont have to make them.
Try these! Probably best as stocking stuffers or secret santa. They are cheap and don't look it. I used these last year and they were a big hit. Using again this year.
