Crock pot help - pretty pretty please?!

Question: Okay here's the deal: My 8 year old son is sick today. I went and grabbed some raw chicken, chicken broth, egg noodles, celery and carrots wanting to make him some homemade chicken noodle soup. Lo and behold I get home and my 2 crock pot cookbooks don't have recipies in them for it. I know, right. So I'm clueless as to how long the meat / noodles / veggies each will take, I think each takes a different mount of time. I'll be home all day and just want it to be good.

Please help...?

Crock Pot Chicken Noodle Soup

2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces
4 cups water
4 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste, depending on saltiness of broth
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 leek or small onion chopped
1 carrot, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram or basil
1 bay leaf
6 ounces noodles

Place all ingredients except noodles in the Crock Pot. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Remove chicken and bay leaf from pot; take meat from bones, dice, and return to broth, and add the noodles.

Cook another hour or until noodles are done (about 1/2 hour on high). Or, cook the noodles separately and add them just before serving.

I just throw all those ingredients in mine and cook on low for 6 hours..

boil the chicken in a big pot of water . then put in acrock pot with the veggies and noodles let cook on med for awhile untill veggies are done . ready to eat. good luck . hope your child feels better.

This is very easy...I like mine when the chicken has been roasted or broiled a bit first....so just broil or saute it to brown the outside a bit - you have to trust me that this will give you a lot more flavor! You don't have to cook it all the way, cuz then you're going to chop it up (remove any skin or bones first) and add to crock pot. Add chicken stock, or veggie stock, or even water and a bullion cube, a bay leaf, some chopped parsley and onion, and a pinch of ground cumin or curry powder if you have it. Add chopped carrots and celery and simmer, covered, in crock pot for 6 hours or so. Add to bowls with freshly boiled noodles and you're good to go!

combine chunks of the veggies add your spices cube the meat..
When the pot comes to a boil it is done.
Test the veggies for tenderness..

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. A good 5-6 hours is just right. The great thing about a crock pot is that it cooks everything evenly. Of course, there are those times when you forget to add enough water for the pasta (or rice) and end up with uncooked food. I'm a butter man myself. If you add enough REAL butter, you can not go wrong. mmm mmm mmm
