Here are some ideas for things to do with a bagel:

SALT AND GARLIC BAGEL CHIPS:

INGREDIENTS
3 day old bagels
1/3 cup olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.

2. Slice bagels into 1/8 inch thick rounds using a serrated knife. Arrange them in a single layer on the greased baking sheet. In a small bowl, stir together the olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Use a spoon or pastry brush to apply the flavored olive oil to the bagel chips. If you start to run out of the mixture, you can add a little bit more oil without sacrificing any flavor. Season the chips lightly with salt and pepper.

3. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the chips are lightly browned. Remove from the oven and cool. The chips will become crispier as they cool.

BAGEL AND CHEESE BAKE:

INGREDIENTS
1/2 pound bacon, diced
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 plain bagels
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
12 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS
1. Place the bacon and onion in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and set aside. Slice each bagel into 4 thin slices.

2.Arrange 6 bagel slices in the bottom of a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover with the bacon and onion mixture, followed by the Cheddar cheese. Top with remaining bagel slices.

3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, parsley, and pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the bagel layers. Cover, and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Uncover the chilled bagel dish, and bake in the preheated oven 25 to 30 minutes, or until eggs are firm. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and serve warm

Make Your Own Bagel Chips:
Make your own bagel chips by cutting bagels into 1/8 inch slices, placing them in a single layer on a baking sheet, and toasting in a 350 degree oven for 5 minutes on a side, or until golden brown. If desired, the bagel slices can be bushed lightly with olive oil and sprinkled with salt, herbs, sesame seeds or other topping of your choice before baking.

Bagel chips taste great with onion dip, ranch dip or hummus!

Hmmm.... If they are plain bagels (not blueberry or something like that) you could use them as the bread for a sandwich! Cut them in half and add everything you like on your sub! They make good breakfast sandwiches too! You could also cut it in half and use the halves as pizza crust! Add some pizza sauce, cheese and whatever other toppings you like and bake it until the cheese melts!

- Toasted with mashed avocado, fresh pepper, a tomato slice, and bacon.
- Bagel pizzas.

Stuffed Bagels

Lay a bagel of your choice on a small pan. Spread the top of the bagel with mustard of your choice. Stuff the hole with several pieces of thinly sliced lunchmeat ham. Lay across the entire bagel, a slice of swiss cheese (covering the mustard and the ham-stuffed hole. Bake the entire thing, slice and eat with a fork.

Below, I've linked you to a picture trail of the same recipe, but using a soft pretzel instead of a bagel.

Also, try a recipe for a bagel casserole which is essentially a "bagel lasagne" but with breakfast ingredients. Pretty inventive, actually. I've included that link, as well.

toast them a bit and put some nutella
