Beer in chili?!

Question: Anyone have any suggestions as to a good beer to use when making chili. I want one tat doesn't have an over powering flavor, but you know its there. I have tried darks, lights, ales pilsners, and even tried vermouth (to sweet). So, please give me a suggestion.

Thank you.

Maybe it is the amount you are using. I use Sam Adams and I use half a bottle and drink the rest! I am making about 5 pounds of chili when I make my batch. Everybody seems to love it. There are the hints of the beer in the flavor and especially in the smell. Definitely doesn't over power it at all.

We use Bud Light over here. I even marinade the meat we are going to grill in a sauce with Bud Light in it.
You could even use Miller Light. Just make sure you put it in with plenty of time so that it can cook down.

only use 1/2 to 1 cup of beer. Shiner is good.

Labatts blue if you find it. Its a Canadian beer with a beefy kinda taste. I use O'lands export but you'll have a time finding it.
Note: keep the beano handy

I use a shot or two of tequila in my chili.
