I have unopened ground beef can i eat it?!

Question: i bought it without realizing its already expired (dec 15)

Answers: i bought it without realizing its already expired (dec 15)

check by the smell/color if it's bad take it back to store tell them it was expired they will replace it for free

no no no

Probably, if you cook it all the way through.
But I would throw it out unless you are really on a tight budget - it is not worth getting sick.

ya...i wouldnt eat that. that meat is old!! throw it out. dont eat that

dont eat it dude!

no...bring it back to the store.

dont eat it!..u might get food poisoning or a food-bourne illness

If you just purchased it and have the receipt I would return it to the store and swap out for a new pack.

If it was refrigerated it will be fine... Or even better if you froze it, but yeah you can still eat it, it will not make you sick. The exp. date on food does not really tell you when it actually spoils... It is just when the store needs to sell it by.

if it's still frozen you'll be fine. if it's not frozen i think i would toss it.

If you put the meat into the freezer BEFORE the expiration date, it should still be okay. If you just bought it, return it tomorrow and get a new pack of ground beef with an expiration date that is Friday or Saturday at the latest, and either eat it right away or FREEZE IT right away ... and eat it within 12 hours of thawing it out.

yeah man...eat it...lolz but make sure u have a phone around u to cal 911..lolz...r u crazy, hrow it or take it back

Was it in the freezer because if it was frozen by that date it should be fine if it wasn't frozen then it is probably bad and you should return it to the store.

if it was frozen by the due date, and thawed right before eating, it is okay

unopened ground beef can stay fresh for up to 3 years at room temperature....i eat year old bologna all the time and usually keep a couple of pounds of brisket under my bed in case i need to get my snack on while i am sleeping.

If it's the sell by date, then you should be fine...just cook it really well. If it is an expiration date then throw it out.

I myself wouldn't eat it. I refuse to eat anything expired. I would rather be safe than sorry and take this as a lesson learned. Check the expiration date before purchase. We all learn those lessons. Sometimes more than once.

Is Dec the 15th the date to sell by ? If so , it is still good as long as it was covered , kept cold .

Probably, if it smells okay and it hasn't gone brown or green in any spots, but you would have to really cook it all the way through. People in other cultures actually do eat meat that has begun to go over and are fine... so you'll probably be fine. That all said, I probably wouldn't unless I were pretty desparate.. LOL.

If it smells raunchy, I wouldn't eat it. If it smells ok it should be fine as long as you cook it thoroughly.

Sell-by doesn't mean use-by. It means the store has to sell it by a certain date. You can use it up to a few days after the sell-by date.

don't chance it .... buy more

If it was frozen rock solid it could be ok. If you do choose to cook it. Make sure you cook very well. If you make burgers make sure they are well done. Tacos, I would add the water and seasonings and boil it for 5 mintues. And so forth, just to make sure that you kill off any bacteria.

ew no

The date on meat and milk is the sell by date not the expiration date. as long as the beef is not discolored, dried out, or has a foul odor you can still use it.

Are you Crazy?
How long has it been unopen?
My advice is: if you just bought it and realizing it expired return to the store and tell them about it. They should give you a new up to date package. Then cooked it completely the way like it.
Examples: Pattles, Meatballs, meatloaf or your favorite Hamburger Helper
