It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to make brussel sprouts taste good.

Use carrots, peas or any other vegetable instead
pinch of salt, do not over cook add cheese.
Make sure everyone is really drunk first, then tell them the sprouts are little spinach balls. You CAN'T make brussel sprouts taste like anything other than a brussel sprout.
Dip it in duck sauce, and feed it to the dog.

Serves 4
Up to 30 Brussel sprouts
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, grated finely
100ml double cream (or soya cream)
salt and pepper to taste
Handful of flaked almonds
Method
If the sprouts are still on their stem, gently snap them off.
Wash the sprouts and remove any yellowing leaves.
If you think there might be bugs in your sprouts, soak them in warm, salted water for 10 minutes. This brings the bugs out... Rinse well before cooking.
Slice the sprouts in half and dry them thoroughly.
Peel and crush the garlic (or chop finely).
Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the garlic. Cook, stirring often, for 2-3 minutes, until soft. Don't let the garlic burn or it can become bitter.
Add the sprouts and stir well. Cover and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
When the sprouts are just softened, add the almonds, grated nutmeg, cream, salt and pepper. Mix well.
FRENCH FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
1 (13 3/4 - 14 1/2 oz.) can chicken broth
2 (10 oz.) containers Brussels Sprouts
Salad oil
1 1/2 c. dried bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
4 lg. eggs
2 tbsp. milk
About 35 minutes before serving.
1. In 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, het chicken broth to boiling; add half of Brussels sprouts. Heat to boiling again; cover and cook 5 minutes or until tender crisp; drain. Repeat with remaining Brussels sprouts.
2. Meanwhile, in 12" skillet over medium heat, heat 3/4" salad oil to 370 degrees on deep fat thermometer.
3. In small bowl or on waxed paper, mix bread crumbs, salt, pepper and nutmeg. In another small bowl, with fork, lightly beat eggs with milk. Dip Brussels sprouts in egg mixture, then bread crumb mixture. Repeat so each piece is coated twice. Fry Brussels sprouts, in batches, 2 minutes or until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
You can't beat a good sprout and it's my opinion that they get really bad press. Seriously, don't over cook them and they'll be fine.
Shredded, and everyone loves them because they have a smokey bacon flavor:
1 pound of brussel sprouts shredded in a processor
4 strips of bacon, sliced into 1/2 pieces
3 green onions (chopped)
render the bacon, placing bacon pieces on a paper towel.
using the bacon fat remaining, saute the shredded sprouts and green onions until slightly wilted
take off heat and add bacon pieces back in
Two options really, 1. Hold your nose or 2. Get so plastered you cant taste anything! enjoy!
errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, there discusting, 2 be honest i went to some restaurant and the food was so crap and bland, some white owner, went to an indian restaurant raaaah, indians can cook, boy, dont really like chinese its always sweet and sour, indian chicken is the best ever, i coudnt stop eating ordered it twice !!,
I have never understood why sprouts are so derided. I love them, but most people overcook them. 4 or 5 minutes is all you need. Great with chestnuts.
Make sure to buy nice fresh Brussels sprouts, and don't overcook them! Steam them until just tender, and then toss with butter and salt.
cut the sprouts in peaces, fry shallot with some cut up bacon, and then at the sprouts, add a liitle water and let it stem for 10-12 minutes add salt pepper and nutmeg.delicious

I think that it is virtually impossible to make brussel sprouts taste good.
take your brussel sprouts and say 750gm and a fifth of their weight in potatoes (skinned), boil until soft,
mash them together then add (for 1 kg of combined weight) about 150ml of single cream, incorporate together
add salt and pepper
finish off with a generous and i mean generous amount of nutmeg, you've just created the best brussel sprout purée in the world; throw all of it in aserving dish to reheat
The problem people have with Brussel Sprouts is they over cook them. That makes them mushy and bitter. yuck
I love Brussel Sprouts cooked in chicken broth just until tender and seasoned with creamery butter. Plezzzzzzzzz do not over cook and they will be GREAT!!
I always cut one in half and taste making sure they are cooked just right. Season with a bit of sea salt. Yummy
