I'm making a DUMP CAKE.... I was wondering....?!

Question: For those of you "foodies" that have made a dump cake... Please save the jokes.. I've heard them ALL ! Anyway, I have a can of crushed pineapple, some cooked apples and some boxed spice cake.. Do you think this would make a good "dump cake" verses the tried and true original cherry pie filling/white cake recipie? Anyone try this and have good results... I also have the stick of butter the original recipie calls for...

Thanks for all the input..

I learned to make a dump cake in high school we used a small can crushed pineapple and apple pie filling a box of cake mix and a stick of butter stick the butter in the freezer until it is frozen
pour pineapple in the bottom of the pan the add the apple pie filling and then sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top and grate the frozen butter on top of it. You can also add cinnamon if you want to. Cook in oven on 350 until the cake is golden brown on top and apples are hot. I hope you enjoy this.

sounds delicious

peace

HAHAHAHAHAHA

you think dump cake gets jokes.. btw never heard of it but sounds good, ever heard of Spotted Dick pudding??

Revenge is best served Cold.

never tried it out but sounds ddeeeeeeelicious

I say go for it and make it your own "Dump Cake". Its ok to change around the ingredients and make it your own!

I love the origonal dump cake.....take a dump and put it on a freckin plate....XD

yes, i have made this and it is a hit at my house...=) i don't add the pineapple though, personal preference...

Sounds yummy!

I'd say that would work and is appropraite for the season...good luck!

I forget what Dump Cake consists of, but I think you just throw the ingredients into the oblong pan and it does the rest on its own?...
In any event, the combination you suggest sounds good - Perhaps the addition of a little cinnamon, pie spices, brandy, etc will make it pop.

Apples might not be the best mix here. Try pineapples, rasberries and cherry pie filling.

20 ounces crushed pineapple
4 ounces of rasberries
16 ounces cherry pie filling
1 package yellow cake mix, dry
1 1/2 sticks butter, sliced

Dump all ingredients into baking pan and bake at 350 F until brown, approximately 1 hour.
Serving Size: 12.

u guys r all losers the jokes r lame it sound delicious

P.S. save me a piece

The fruit sounds good. Use a butter recipe yellow cake mix instead of the spice cake, though. Also, crush some pecans and put them on top before drizzling the butter over it.

Also, drain the pineapples really well and discard the juice, rather than mixing it in with the cake.

It would probably work great if you drain the fruits. Going to let us know how it turns out? It is fun to experiment.

those are times when they come out the best I am sure it will be Delicious and everyone will want the recipe

I haven't made (or eaten) one of those in years. The apples and spice cake should work, just fine, but I would leave out the pineapple. Pineapple does weird things unless it is totally sugar coated (glazed), because of certain enzymes it contains. Why take the chance.

.

Yes, I think it sounds good. The spice cake can be a bit strong at times, IMO, but for the holidays, it shoudl be great.

I consider myself a "foodie" but I love Dump Cake! :-D

poop

Gross. You should never put feces in a cake, you might get sick.
