Does anyone have a simple macaroni salad recipe that calls for 1 sm. jar of pimentos in it?!
Answers: Last Thanksgiving, my mother-in-law found a macaroni salad recipe off a box of macaroni and cheese and it was very simple. we lost it, but i do remerber it called for a sm. jar of pimentos. I think also some sugar, sm. white onion, mayo, and a little prepared mustard. If anyone out there has a mac. salad recipe similar to this please answer.
This is how I make it.
1 lb box of macaroni, cooked by directions on box, rinse in cold water, and drain
1 small jar of chopped pimentos, drained
1/4 cup of diced green bell pepper
1/4 cup of diced sweet onion
2 chopped hard boiled eggs
1/2 cup of diced celery
1/4-1/2 tsp of prepared mustard
1/4 tsp of sugar
salt and pepper to taste
I prefer to use Miracle Whip salad dressing, but have mixed M.W with Helman's mayo before. Mix ingredients and then add to macaroni. Add enough salad dressing, to coat all ingredients. If you use only mayonnaise, you may want to add just a tablespoon or two of milk to thin. It depends on your taste, but you can add more of the listed ingredients, if you want. You can add diced american cheese if you wish to the salad. I prefer it without.
have one better, any cooked pasta, Knorrs veg soup mix, small onion, celery, pimentos, ranch dressing, .... ! 2cups ranch to dry mix, blend set aside. cook and drain pasta, (I use curly noodles) chop some onion and celery drain pimentos add all together, chill overnight. (about 1 small box noodles).
I made one before from the Kraft box & it turned out great....Prepare pasta according to directions, then drain & rinse with cold water. In small bowl, mix together 1 sm jar pimentos, 1 sm pkg frozen peas - thawed & drained, 1 sm white onion finely chopped, 1 pkg shredded cheddar cheese. In small bowl mix together 1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch dressing with 1/2 cup of mayo ( I use Kraft).....Stir together, then pour over pasta mixture & toss to coat.....Sprinkle with fresh ground pepper & if you want to dress it up - top off with sliced boiled eggs sprinkled with a little paprika.....Pretty & yummy too!
