Do you cook the vegetables in the same pan as the turkey or seperate? And whats a nice way to cook them ?!

Question: I cook the vegetables after the turkey has been removed to rest and while I make the gravy. The vegetables have already been prepared & ready to go into the oven.
I cook a few root vegetables with the turkey for the purpose of flavouring the gravy i.e. onion, carrot, celery, turnip & potato. But the vegetables I will be serving with the turkey I will lightly oil and season & cook in a separate pan to be sure there are lots e.g. Onions, peppers, Potatoes, carrots, turnips, parsnips, sweet potatoes & green peppers.

Of course, must make a pot of potatoes maybe Yukon gold separately to mash with butter & cream & then whip them.
Always a big side dish of cooked frozen peas and another one of corn.
Lots & lots of gravy served with this meal.

You didn't ask for a menu, but we always have a crisp garden salad as well.

Desserts? well now they are just all over the place now and it's up to the hostess what to serve.

Yes I do. When the turkey is done, I remove it and put the roasting vegies in the dish. You're making my mouth water thinking about it!

That is in preference. Cooking veggies with the turkey will add flavor to the veggies but put them in a while before the turkey is completely done, depending on what all veggies your cooking the cooking time will change. Between an hour to 2 hours should be enough time. You can also steam the vegies on the stove and add different seasonings to them to open up the flavor pallette more.
