If you were cooking a meal.?!

Question: For some one special, or for friends, what would it be and what is the recipe?
As for me Steak a la Keith. Ingredients good quality steak, mushrooms, onion, can of chopped tomato, beef stock or beef cube, flour, salt pepper.
Fry onion and mushrooms preferably, in butter, place in casserole dish.
Two tablespoons of flour one teaspoon of salt & pepper in a dish and mix, cut steak into pieces and coat then fry at a high heat to seal, for a short time.
Place in casserole dish, add can of tomatoes and beef stock.
Cook in oven low temperature 170, for two hours.
Just check to make sure it does, not get too dry.
Serve with roast potatoes and veg your choice, I prefer broccoli.
This is not something you have to chew, it will dissolve in your mouth.
For starter well garlic prawns.

Firstly, if you are going to stew the steak, you don't need a good quality cut, use a gravy beef or oyster blade. Garlic prawns are a great idea for starters, they're easy and very tasty. If you are going to use good steak, I would go with a simple steak diane or even make up a pepper sauce, which will only take a quarter the amount of time to prepare and cook. I would spend the time on making a great dessert instead...something simple, yet easy to make. How about a really nice chocolate sundae, a sorbet, or even a cheesecake, which you can prepare earlier in the day......OR you could just buy one (with the change you have left over from the steak) you sound like a great host!! i'm sure your guests will enjoy whatever you make

That's kind of heavy. I'd go with hommus and pita bread.

This time of year, that would be mashed potatoes. On top of that cooked Belgian endives rolled up in slices of ham, and on top of that my signature cheese sauce, for which I'm not going to give you a recipe. After you put all that together it also needs some time in the oven.

For a bit of variation, bananas cut in half lengthwise may be rolled up in the ham together with the endives, and slices of tomato may be put on top of the sauce before you put it in the oven. A Dutch classic.

Oh you cruel man! Why would you make me want to eat delicious steak like that so bad! I have not had a good steak in SO long! :(

I would cook my special Apricot Chicken and rice dish.... Its basically chicken breasts marinated in herbs, apricot sauce and halved pieces of apricots, salt and pepper, capsicum, onion and mushrooms served on a bed of perfectly fluffy rice... I cook it slow and long so the flavors soak right into the chicken and its really soft and delicious when you eat it.... Served with a whole pile of baked apricots on top, and Bone-ape-tie!

Thanks for the recipe Keith. It sounds wonderful. I would go with the baked potatoes and broccoli, it's winter here and very cold, so that meal would fit the bill.

My husband is a surf and turf guy, so I rarely have to get extrememly inventive with a special occasion meal, although I try to mix things up by changing the beef recipe. I do try to get really creative with the desserts. Just to be fair, I love steak myself, and prefer it when we have a meal a' deux.

I will get back in touch after I have tried it. Perhaps for New Year's Eve...

If I run across any good menus, or recipes, I'll get in touch, if that's okay.

God bless you. ?
