Question about a Sausage and Rice Crockpot recipe?!

Question: Friday night I'm planning on making a Sausage and Rice Crockpot recipe. The recipe includes the following ingredients:
Sausage
Rice
Chopped carrots
chopped celery
onions
Rosemary
Sage
2 cans of cream of celery soup
2 tbsp. butter
1 can sliced mushrooms

My question is should I cook up the sausage and rice before I put it in the crockpot or should I put it in the crockpot without cooking it first? Also are there any other ingredients that would go good in this recipe? This recipe cannot have tomatoes, peppers or cheese cause I have an ulcer and that stuff doesn't agree with my stomach.

I would brown and drain the sausage, but there is enough liquid, it sounds like for the rice to be able to go in dry. I would use minute rice however

the recipe sounds good as it is, i would cook the sausage and rice first.

I love crock pots. You dont need to cook the rice or the sausage beforehand. The crockpot will do that for you. Also, out of concern, if you have an ulcer, you should probably steer clear of sausage too. Sausage is full of fat and spices that my upset your stomach. Hope this helps.
