Lost my recipe for manicotti. Found a new one it calls for parsley but the 1 old said basil. which is better??!

Question: Makin food for x-mas. lost old instructions. found new ones online but i want to put basil in cause that's how i've made it in the past. but i don't want to put too much or too little in. my family isn't big on Italian food so I have to make something they all will enjoy.

For manicotti, I'd definitely go with basil. Are you using dried or fresh? If dried, you can probably just substitute about a teaspoon in place of the parsley. (if you're using fresh herbs, you'll need a bit more.)

Basil is a lot more flavorful. I would go for basil.

basil is a common herb used in italian food, and it compliments it so wonderfully. I would go with the basil. You can actually use both at the same time.

use basil...basil to me is strong when used in any italian recipe...i wouldnt use parsley it has almost no taste to me more of a decoration...i have had to guessitmate this year too because i packed my recipes and had to find ones that were similar on line..so far they have all turned out ok..i hope yours does as well
