What are you making for Christmas dinner?!

Question: I would love to hear about traditional and non-traditional meal plans. I really like to read about food!

I am making both Christmas Eve dinner as well as Christmas Day dinner this year. My mom just had back surgery so I'm giving it a try.

For Christmas Eve, we are having fondue, both cheese and chocolate. The cheese fondue is a yummy cheddar and Worcestershire sauce recipe that my husband and I have every year on New Year's Eve. We'll be dipping bread, steamed veggies, and lightly grilled steak, oh, and pretzel rods. In the chocolate fondue, we'll dip strawberries, angel food cake, grahm crackers, marshmallows, pretzel rods, and bananas. We usually have prime rib for Christmas Eve, but my mom's budget is bigger than mine. ;o)

Christmas Day dinner is very traditional- at least for us. I'm making a turkey (classic, but with a bit more garlic than most people probably use), a ham, mashed red potatoes (again with garlic, and onions), oh- gravy for each meat, steamed broccoli with cheddar, stuffing, a veggie tray with homemade ranch, canned cranberry sauce, homemade (bread machine) bread, pumpkin pie with Cool Whip for some, Dream Whip for others, and my favorite- Jesus' birthday cake.

Hope you enjoy this little glimpse into our Christmas.

I also hope your hubby will be home for Christmas. Merry Christmas, belinda~

Sorry, I'm only in charge of snacks every year. Like chex mix and cookies. I'm gonna be screwed when my day comes to actually cook the dinner!
