What's the best dish to serve for Christmas dinner?!
Answers: When we had big dinners, we would have ham, turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, hot rolls with homemade jelly, homemade macaroni and cheese, homemade baked beans, candid sweet potatoes, black olives and homemade pickles, homemade pimento cheese and crackers, pumpkin and apple pies, two kinds of cakes, broccoli, stuffed green peppers, peas, raw or cooked carrots, celery sticks, pickled eggs and beets (they were always a big hit and looked pretty), deviled eggs, sometimes a garden salad and frankly I'm not sure what else. Just anything Mom and I could think of. The more people we expected, the more stuff we would prepare. One year we had about 75 family members, including my husbands ex-wife and her mother, lol. Hope this helps.
