Christmas Turkey & bacon.?!

Question: Hi everyone, I want to put bacon over my turkey for christmas, I only have a small one that will take 2 hours & 30 minutes in the oven. If I put the bacon over the turkey when it's raw I have a fear it's going to burn being in the oven for 2.5 hours.
When is the best time to put the bacon on the turkey?
What would you do?

Put the bacon on at the beginning and cover the bird with foil, that way the bacon will not 'burn'. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes so the bacon and turkey skin will brown. Basting the bird will also prevent the bacon from over-cooking. You could also put a sliced onion over the bacon to protect it, and help keep the bird moist.

Put the bacon on the turkey at the beginning and also some foil. Allow the bird to roast for about 1 hour then take the foil off so the bacon can crisp up

add it 40 minutes before the turkey will be done

The bacon is used only really to 'lard' the breast with fat, to stop it drying out

Put the bacon on the turkey before it goes in the oven. Remove it 40min before turkey is done to allow the skin to brown. The purpose of putting the bacon on is to give flavour & stop the skin from browning too quickly.

BURN IT!!!
