Is it cheaper to use a breadmaker?!

Question: We have a large family and we go through bread like crazy. Has anyone done the math to determine if a homemade loaf of bread maker bread is cheaper than a store bought loaf? I know it tastes better. I just want to know if it's worth the trouble.

I MAKE BREAD ALMOST EVERY DAY WITH MY BREAD MAKER. IT IS SO EASY AND SO GOOD. YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS IN IT AND WHAT IS NOT. I FIGURE THAT I CAN MAKE FOUR LOAVES FROM 5# OF FLOUR WHICH IS 1.59 HERE NOT ON SALE (4 CUPS FLOUR PER LOAF). NOT COUNTING THE YEAST OR GOODIES YOU CAN ALSO ADD. IT COMES TO ABOUT 40 CENTS PER LOAF. EVEN WITH THE YEAST IT ONLY COSTS ABOUT 50 CENTS.
PUT SOME EXTRAS IN IT LIKE BACON AND DRIED ONION, CINNAMON AND RAISINS, GARLIC AND PARSLEY, OR USE DIFFERENT GRAIN COMBINATIONS. UMM UMMM GOOD AND IT SMELLS HEAVENLY. SO EASY.

CAN'T BEAT THAT WITH A STICK

You can buy really cheap bread at the stores... but home made is the best and you know exactly what your family is eating.....

Years ago it use to be cheaper to make bread... not anymore....... But home made smells and tastes so good.. if you enjoy bread making.....then do it.

Go to a thrift store to get one cheap..
try it out for your self..
They are a 'pain!' in the work load to clean..
as for cost;; YES the bread maker flour is EXPENSIVE..
lord we have been making bread thousands of years ...
No electric gadget ($$$) is going to reduce the cost..
