Can I add anything to semi-sweet chocolate to keep it hard after I dip something into it?!

Question: I'm making Chocolate covered Oreo suckers and I don't want the chocolate to get soft at room temperature.

Will the semi sweet get soft or can I add something to it to help it stay hard?

when you melt the chocolate, add a small amount of paraffin wax (such as a small birthday candle that is food safe) that will solve the problem

It will harden as it cools and if you wish to speed up the hardening, place the suckers on a cookie sheet and place in the freezer for 5 minutes.

You can melt 2 TBS vegetable shortening with a bag of chocolate chips. Works well for chocolate covered strawberries, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for Oreos.
