Has anyone ever tried Dr. Pepper for a ham glaze?!

Question: If you have, I was curious if you mixed it with brown sugar or anything else.
A recipie would be nice.

Thanks!

My Mom used to do this. You just pour Dr. Pepper over the ham several times while you are baking it. When finished it will have a wonderful glaze. I grew up in the deep South, and I remember this from that time. You need no sugar or anything else, though you could stud the ham with whole cloves as well. It's easy and painless.
Hope this helps!

Yes, it was nasty, but we don't care for Dr. Pepper regularly :o) The cherry flavor kind of changed to medicine-y, and it was cough syrup covered :o/

Yes I did.. but it's been years ago... it seems like I used it to thin a mixture of yellow mustard and honey... but you REALLY need to do it by taste.. there is no recipe.

DR. PEPPER HAM

1 ham
1 (12 oz.) can Dr. Pepper
1 can pineapple rings
1 can cherries
Clove spikes

Put ham in deep pan on aluminum foil. Pour Dr. Pepper over. Pour cherries (drained) over. Place pineapple rings on top. Put in clove spikes. Bake at low temperature (300 degrees) for 2-2 1/2 hours. Dr. Pepper will turn into syrup
