What kind of dip with?!

Question: A bread bowl. I guess it must kind of depend on the bread bowl too....any suggestions for the best kind of bowl and dip that goes best would be great.

I don't want to do onion dip because I am doing that for the chips.

(in charge of bread bowl and chips/dip for pre Christmas dinner snacks.)

I never had dip in a bread bowl until this:

SPINACH DIP IN BREAD BOWL

1 c. Miracle Whip salad dressing
1 c. sour cream
1 pkg. (1.1 oz.) Ranch salad dressing mix
1 pkg. (10 oz.) chopped spinach, thawed, well drained
1 can (8 oz.) water chestnuts, drained, chopped
1/2 c. chopped red bell pepper
1 (8 inch) round sourdough or white bread loaf

Mix salad dressing, sour cream and salad dressing mix until well blended. Add spinach, water chestnuts, red peppers; mix well. Refrigerate.
Cut top of loaf crust. Dip out inside of loaf. Before serving fill loaf with dip. Cut leftover bread in cubes or strips.

Why not a veggie plate. Then you won't be filled up b/4 dinner.

Try Knorr's Spinach dip using their Spring vegetable soup mix in the dry soup aisle, its on the box usually. Its the best! Or try www.allrecipes.com for ideas

How about just a plain bread bowl, and Dill dip, that's realy good.

spinach dip!!!

Google "chipped beef dip". That's always a favorite in a rye bread bowl.

Mix ingredients well. Chill dip at least two hours.
Hollow out a round sourdough bread loaf or pumpernickel loaf and fill with the dip. Cut the middle section of the bread into squares and place around the dip instead of crackers.

This is an old classic recipe. I used to get great pumpernickel from a Bavarian bakery I lived next door to when I was in college.
