When cooking vegies in a hooded bbq, do you put them straight onto the hotplates?!

Question: I never do ~ I either wrap em up in some tinfoil with a tiny bit of butter/lemon/herbs... whatever you like
OR
I've also used a pie plate with tinfoil on top... this works well too. Either way you can flip the whole parcel and the veggies pretty much steam this way & dont get too mushy from the direct heat.

Wrap them in tin foil and place them on the rack.

As a rule I do.

Season them. Wrap em in foil. Then poke holes in the foil.

Not sure about hotplates, but I usually grill them on the top row, is that the same? I use a basting brush to lightly coat them with butter and just let them sit on the top row of the grill.

I dont because I like my veges steamed first. However, some people do this, so it is really up to you.

We roasted potatoes & pumpkin on ours one year, but did it in foil trays, It worked out OK, but would rather mine done in a conventional oven!
