We call them Cheerios as well here in NZ. They are already cooked. I just warm them up in simmering water and try not to let them burst.

we get some Pillsbury crescent rolls and take a knife and make strips out of the dough. then roll a Little smokey up in the dough. Make a bunch of these and bake them on a cookie sheet 400 for 10 minutes or till they get brown. we call them "pigs in a blanket" We will also put them in some barbecue sauce in a crock pot. I put them in Gumbo too. I ain't stuffed them in a turkey yet. (my wife won't let me) LOL!

They are great cooked on low on stove top with your Favorite BBQ sauce(put enought to cover the sausages). If the sauce is not a sweet sauce, you may like to add a couple tblsp. of grape jelly! They are already cooked, so you just may want to heat them up.

I was with soup chic until she added grape jelly...bleh!! I boil mine on the stove in BBQ sauce and half again as much water to keep it from burning. Just heat them all the way through (if you don't they will be gristly) for about 8 minutes the eat up.
My kids like them steamed for 10 minutes and then put them on toothpicks to dip into ketchup and mustard.

This is the best, I swear!

COCKTAIL SMOKIES
1 lb cocktail wieners
1 cup bbq sauce
1 cup grape jelly
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Place all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low for 2 hrs or place all ingredients in large pot and cook on low for 1 hour.

I know this sounds gross but it always gets rave reviews... use 1 small jar of grape jelly and add about 1/8th to 1/4th cup of mustard. It makes a sort of BBQ sauce that is delicious. Put it all in a crock pot and heat on medium or high for about 45 minutes to 1 hour - until they are heated. You can also do it on the stove top if you don't have a crock pot. People always ask what kind of BBQ sauce I use and then have a very surprised looks on their face when I tell them.
