Is homemade cookie dough a nice Christmas gift?!
Shannon
Answers: Today is Christmas Eve. I am running out of money. So, I was planning on making 3 different kinds of Cookie dough and giving them out as gifts. I plan on decorating the packaging I am going to put them in with the directions of how long to bake. I was wondering if that is a "cheesy" idea. I'd love opinions. Thanks!

That's cute! I wouldn't recommend packaging the actual dough itself, though (mostly because it doesn't keep well). The dry ingredients are best, and then tell them what liquids to include in the instructions. Similar packages to that sell like hotcakes at craftshows.
No, that is great. Who wouldn't enjoy that!
Yes
I think thats a great idea. I love homemade gifts. We dont NEED all this junk. Christmas is depressing me because people feel the need to spend so much and we all get given all this stuff like bath and shower products in masses of plastic packaging and therefore add to the high levels of chemicals in our water table and trash in our landfill sites. So yeah, tis the season to be creative! Make all your gifts! I'd love some cookie dough!
Depends on the person your giving it to. If they're cookie lovers, they'd probably like it.
Makin cookies is not cheap though. Everything is expensive that goes into cookies after the flour that is.
I think maybe a better option would be to get gift cards to a place like McDonalds, or Burgerking, or any fast food places if they eat there, even occassionally, or just stop for coffee. You can get on in a smaller amount and it will be appreciated. If your friends or family know your strapped, that will be fine with them. I love getting them and I don't usually go to fast food places, but everyone I know knows that I love McDonalds new premium coffed, so my MIL always drops a card for 10 bucks to there in my stocking or gift and I love getting it. That's 10 cups of coffee she gives me through the drive thru. Remember honey, it's really NOT the gift, but the intent and that it's given with love.
Merry Christmas
l ,love it
I think it's a great idea! Your friends will know you had to spend something more valuable than money, time and creative energy. If you have a child near you (yours, neighbors, etc.) have them dip hand in finger paint and place on white paper. When dry, you have a wonderful wrapping paper much cheaper than store bought, too.
yes cookie dough
I agree with Kerrianna. When I was shopping the other day, I saw cookie dough mix layered in big Mason Jars(for canning)with directions for adding the wet ingredients(egg, oil water etc)They jar had a pretty ribbon tied around it.( Imagine sand art in a bottle) If you did it like this the people could use the mix at their convenience rather then having to use it right away.
