Rather have a big ole turkey with the trimmings or?!
Answers: a big ole standing ribroast for the holidays meal?
Both sound good but I am a old fashion girl and if there isn't a big Ole Turkey at Christmas its not the same.
Tell you what...cut that ribroast into ribeyes and I will toss them on the grill and be about as happy as a man can be.
Standing rib roast. I can get a great turkey dinner any day at the restaurant up at the corner, it's their specialty.
Since most people have already had Turkey less than a month ago for Thanksgiving and may be suffering from PTLD (Post-Turkey-Leftover-Disorder) a nice standing ribroast would make a great and more original Christmas meal.
For me turkey is like a twice a year event, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ribroast could be any time so on the whole I'd rather have a turkey.
I do a standing rib roast or a tenderloin roast every Christmas! I think it's a nice change of pace for most people, plus I already do a huge turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. I just find the roast more festive, and more of an extravagance, and everyone always loves it! Happy Holidays!
In our house Christmas is all about taking the day off to be with the family, enjoy the snow and play with the new toys. I never serve a single bite that cannot be produced prior to midnight on Christmas Eve, so I spend weeks baking cookies & breads, making things like hummus & salsa - and putting together a very large version of the world's best lasagna. On Christmas Day we only need to do the final baking of the lasagna and toss the salad.
