What are great sides dishes to go with lasagna?!

Question: Eating the finest Italian food, my mother's from childhood, do what my mom did. Serve breaded eggplant along with seasoned breaded and cheese tomato slices, grilled. The cheese is imported hard ground provolone. Most Sicilian families do not serve bread with pasta. And of course the lasagna has ground beef and pork in it.
