Cookie dough I just made smells horrible...what to do?!

Question: I may i have added more or less of certain ingredients the recipe called for and now they dough smells really really bad...don't really know how to describe the smell but its bad. After eating 2 cookies, i felt sick just from the smell. Have a lot of dough left over...
What can i add to the rest of the dough to make the cookies smell better after they come out of the oven?

Throw it out and start over. When in doubt, always throw away. Most cooks are use to failed recipes.

Next time you cook or bake, follow the directions.

This all really depends on what it is you added to your cookie dough. I would recommend throwing away the rest of the dough and starting over again. Make sure your ingredients are fresh and at the proper temperature (i.e. eggs, butter/shortnening/etc.)

Throw it out and start again. You can't fix it if you don't know what you did wrong. The smell and taste could mean that one of your ingredients was bad. Don't risk it.

The only cookies that I have ever made that smell "bad" are those that use Baker's ammonia instead of baking powder or soda, but even they smell wonderful by the time they come out of the oven.

If the ones that you made really smell awful, then I would assume that you accidentally used the wrong ingredient or something was mislabeled and follow the Golden Rule of Eating & Serving Food -

When in doubt, throw it out!

toss it in the bin.....

toss the dough and the recipe, then search for a new cookie recipe you like. Simple?
