Toddler Snacks?!

Question: I'm babysitting my niece today and I want to make something for her that she can also help me out with. She loves mixing and pouring things. She's almost 2! She isn't a very picky eater but she loves veggies and green foods. I don't want to just give her veggies because that's boring! If you have any simple, fun, and easy recipes that we can try out, please share them! THANKS!

My son turns two in January...so they are probably the same age.

He likes to eat little pieces of cheese.

He loves Fig Newtons.

We often share a pear or apple or orange or grapes as a snack (cut everything small...split the grapes in half and be sure there are no seeds)

He loves Ritz Crackers

He also loves pasta and cheese tortellini...so if your niece is hungrier, you can make some pasta (not much...maybe 1/2 cup) and cool it down and let her munch on that. You can stir in a little butter if she likes.

He even enjoys a piece of cinnamon bread...or regular bread with jam. Sometimes he likes it toasted.

He loves to eat sliced up tomatoes too.

If your niece loves veggies, let her eat them. She won't be bored.

Toddlers should be feeding themselves, so think simple, finger-friendly, bite-size foods like:

low-sugar breakfast cereals
fresh fruit thinly sliced or cut into small pieces
whole-grain crackers and mini-muffins
cheese cut into thin slices or shredded

glass of chocolate milk...let her pour the chocolate and help u stir (to avoid a huge mess)

try ants on a log.

fill celery stalks with peanut butter and top with raisins of chocolate chips. a little healthy and a little not but she could put on the "ants" and help add the p.b

have fun >wink<

i thoought they only ate cheeroos

Make smoothies!

Let her pour some yogurt into a blender, then she can plop in the strawberries (or whatever frozen berries you have), pour a wee bit of sugar or honey in and she can even press the buttons to blend it all up.

my daughter loves those yogurt raisins and dried dates as well as apple sauce for snacks shes not that big into veggie food right now but something she used to love was scrambled eggs with tomatoe pees and cheese

How about a quesadilla...2 tortillas...some shreddedcheese...maybe some goddies in the middle...olives etc.

any finger foods are good, fruits pieces, maybe some veggies with ranch dip.
but be carerful of peanut butter, make sure she is not allergic to it or any other foods before feeding her
