Snickerdoodles

1? cups sugar
? cup butter or margarine, softened
? cup shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
? tsp salt
? cup sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon

1. Heat oven to 400oF.
2. Mix 1? cups sugar, the butter, shortening and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
3. Shape dough into 1?" balls. Mix ? cup sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

I Really Like This Recipe

Snickerdoodles

1/2 c Butter/margarine, softened
1/2 c Shortening
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 Eggs
2 3/4 c Flour
2 tsp Cream of Tartar
1 tsp Baking soda
1/4 tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 deg. F.
Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and the eggs. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Blend into the egg/butter/sugar mixture. Shape the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.(About the size of walnuts)

Mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in the sugar-cinnamon mixture and place them about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes, or until set. (The cookies puff up first, then flatten out.) Immediately remove the cookies from the baking sheet.

Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
