When stainless steel pots and pans develop little rainbows of color, is that cause for concern?!

Question: I think I had my sauce kettle on a high heat for a while and now on the bottom it's sort of a got a little rainbow formation -- like standing motor oil in a parking lot.

Is that cause for concern or is it fine?

No worries! That's just God's promise that you'll never again burn anything in that pot.

Okay, seriously. I've been cooking every flippin' day for over 20 years, and *all* of my pots and pans eventually become discolored. Sometimes, when it's that rainbow-looking stuff, it's because it wasn't rinsed well enough the last time you washed it :)

it's nothing to worry about - it's purely cosmetic and will not not affect the stainless steel.

as long as they don't start practicing same sauce marriage, you should be fine

The pan just got hot. Clean it easily with"Bar Keepers Friend" or" Cameo".
