Blend together;
3 cups flour
3 heaping tsp. shortening
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt.
Add enough milk to make a soft dough. Roll out dough into a 12" square, 1/2 at a time. Cut square into 4 equal pieces. In each square, place 1/4 to 1/2 of an apple, sliced. Top with some sugar, dash of cinnamon and a dot of butter. Fold up corners and seal. Place dumplings in a 9x13" greased pan, with sealed side down. Pour syrup over dumplings. Bake at 350o F. until browned, basting occasionaly.
Syrup:
Heat together 2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup oleo, 2 cups water and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Heat until oleo is melted. Makes 8 dumplings.

Quick Apple Dumpling
Ingredients
1&1/2 c. Sugar
2 cans Crescent rolls
1 tsp. Cinnamon
2 sticks Melted margarine
1- 12 oz Mountain Dew
Dew
4 Granny smith apples
Preparation
Peel and core apples, slice into 4 slices per apple, roll each apple slice in 1 cresent roll and place in pan 9X13X2inches.
Mix margarine, sugar and cinnamon together in sauce pan, and heat to melt, add the can of mountain dew.
Pour mixture over crecsent rolls . Bake at 350* for 45 minutes. Let stand for 30 minutes before serving. Yields 16 apple dumplings.

core and peel an apple and wrap it in a thin layer of pie crust found in the refrigerated section of the supermarket. push the edges together and wet the edges, if necessary, to seal them. sprinkle sugar over the whole thing and bake at 350 degrees till nicely browned.
