How many ounces of spaghetti to feed 10 people, light eaters?!

Question: two lbs. whats ever left feed to the dog

Answers: two lbs. whats ever left feed to the dog

2 pounds dry pasta would be enuf to feed 10 light eaters, maybe even a little too much, but what's wrong with leftovers.

If I were cooking I would make two packages of it if they are light eaters or have other foods to also eat.

1 lb. of spaghetti should do it if they're light eaters. I'm assuming you will have salad, garlic bread or something else to go with it.

i would take 3 pounds to be safe -- leftovers aren't a bad thing with pasta.

thats 48 oz or 3 pckg of 16 oz

I would offer 10-14oz per person. I usually eat 16oz but im not really a light eater. So a little less than 8 lbs total. 8oz noodles and 4 or 5 oz sauce should do it. So that would be about 40 oz of sauce and maybe 2 regular sized packages of speghetti.

Light eaters - I would figure about 4-5 oz per person plus sauce. I would say you would not need more than two jars. We only use one with a family of 5 (my husband and 3 boys) and there is always some left over.

I'm a light eater and 3 oz is more than adequate. But what is a light eater? Better to have some left over and go with 4 oz per person = 40 oz. 2 lbs should be lots but perhaps another handful, if your pot is large enough. Have to remember you will probably have had a salad and some appetizers already. Maybe even dessert to come.

Just a thought, spaghetti might just be a little unwieldy to control that much in one pot for 10 people, you might consider a shorter shape, such as, rigatoni or penne or bowties, ravioli, tortellini, even gnocchi, depending on the sauce you are serving.

Figure, 1lb, per four People, use 3lbs, never know. Just play it safe, have fun.

i would just go by the package....read how many serving it says it is....adjust accordingly...
