How do you deal with a partners stomach issues?!
Answers: BF is lactose intolerant & has super sensitive stomach. I love to cook, hate ordering out. I like my dairy....Do I really have to cook 2 separate meals? Any insight on how you deal would be appreciated.
Maybe you could have him cok his own meals. It would be easier for you, as you only have to cook one meal for yourself, and he can choose whatever "special" dish he wants that day and make it himself.
You both get to eat what you want, and no one has to cook 2 meals a day.
Time for a new BF.
Food is too important to limit your eating to what
someone else can tolerate.
My husband isn't lactose intolerant, but he dislikes most cheeses and dairy. I have managed to get him to like lasagna, but most of the time I have to put cheese options, like parmesan, on the side.
*sigh* I'd really like some spanakopita, but it has feta in it.
Fix him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich... he will quickly start making his own dinners... unless he likes pb and j.
How about a compromise? Cook a main dish you both like and he can tolerate, and separate sides for each of you. I do that sometimes. For instance, I can't stand Brussel Sprouts, and my husband loves them, and I love artichokes, and he hates them, so sometimes I cook both along with something like chicken we both love, so we can choose the sides we like.
My suggestion would be to google lactose-free recipes such as this one http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes/lactos...
where you can find recipes that will suit him. Then, from the recipes you can specialize it for you, ie. adding dairy to yours while you make it. My boyfriend is an EXTREMELY picky eater so Im constantly modifying meals to suit us both, it's very easy to do. Hope that helps.
I know how you feel. My boyfriend has heart disease and is on several medications. His diet is very bland. I love spicy and cheesy foods. He can't have any of it. He also has very bad reflux every morning and has to vomit. I do cook separate meals sometimes but I have also adjusted to his diet, which is healthier anyway.
I know people find it difficult to speak about their 'belly' so they refer to their belly as their stomach, but that is where these persistent pains usually are. So do you really mean 'stomach' or are you talking about his belly. Nearly all her life my wife suffered with quite violent pains in her belly, that is, the place under her navel. These alternated with bouts bouts of constipation and diarrehia
Till we saw a different docotor who sent us (once again) to the nearest hospital, there we saw a different consultant. He had her in four days during which time she ate nothing. I think she was subjected to some colonic irrigation but her digestive tract was flushed right through.
She never had any more pains, it was as if a miracle had been worked on her.
If this is a help to any other who suffers the same as my wife please do not hestate to seek medical help
i know how you feel my gf is dairy intolerant i just changed the style of what i was cooking there are plenty of middle eastern recipes and indian and chinese recipes that you can make that contain no dairy at all and when you have a hankering for a really good pasta or rissotto or whatever just serve his first and then just add cheese to your meal before you serve it this works for me..
My hubby doesn't eat a lot of things like fish or mushrooms etc, so if I am cooking I make something each, I love to cook so it's not a hassle.
my BF is LI but is supper picky.. worse then me.. and that's saying alot... i dont cook separate meals just add the stuff i like to the dinner after i cook his... like lasagna... he doesnt like spinach and i do.. so i cook the lasagna and the spinach on the side and add it to my plate.
have you looked up a LI cook book? maybe there are recipes in there you can compromise with.. like add the stuff you want on the side...good luck!
