This is one of my favorites macoroni noodles-tossed with seasonal veggies, parmesean cheese, and olive oil.
What about a bed of pasta to serve the grilled chicken over, it's not really a side dish but it will be filling. Also serve some type of bread, try baking the bread for half the cook time and add some butter, rosemary, and cheese and continue cooking. Good Luck
why don't you try couscous?
or if you want another vegetable, julienned carrots with a touch of honey and butter
What about wild rice,or a risotto?Go to www.foodnetwork.com or www.allrecipes.com for some good recipes.Good luck!
How about a bed of macaroni and cheese whiz, or tater tots and fish sticks with some nice sprigs of mcnuggets, with a spraggle of cheap ranch dressing. also forty ouncers of miller lite.
Buy some pesto in the spaghetti sauce section of the store. Cook spaghetti noodles al dente and put a generous portion of pesto on it an stir it in. I use 1/4 to 1/2 cup.
corn and biscuits mmmmmmmmmm...
Rice pilaf sounds good with that, either homemade or the box kind. I like Near East brand.
A nice tabbouleh salad, or couscous, would also be good.
Angel Hair Pasta with Lemon and Pine Nuts
1/4 lb angel hair pasta or capellini
3/4 teaspoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons pine nuts, toasted golden
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons freshly grated lemons, zest of
1/4 cup minced flat leaf parsley
--Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil for pasta.
In a small saucepan cook garlic in oil over moderately low heat, stirring, until softened and transfer mixture to a large bowl. Add pine nuts, crushing them lightly with the back of a fork, lemon juice, zest, parsley, and salt and pepper to taste.
Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente and, reserving 2 tablespoons of the cooking water, drain well. Add pasta with the reserved cooking water to bowl and toss with lemon mixture until it is absorbed. Serve pasta warm or at room temperature.
The side dish will connect to the chicken through the lemon so the flavor won't over power the main dish.
Enjoy!
