Best desert recipes for new years??? help!!?!
Answers: Blondies with White Chocolate sauce combined with roasted walnuts and vanilla Ice cream, it is best if served on a hot to scalding platter or skillet. If for a party, I'd suggest getting I believe nestle butterscotch chips and using their cookie recipe (as it has been rated to be quite an excellent general recipe). If you want chewier, substitute in egg yolks, brown sugar, and use butter. For crisper use margarine, egg whites (possibly whipped), and white sugar. For spices added, I use a bit of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, celery seeds (ground, or salt if you don't have the seeds and only a hint), and sometimes some chipotle, chocolate powder, or allspice.
I made the best german choco pie for Christmas this year.
So simple - it was a hit
GERMAN CHOCOLATE PIE
1/3 c. milk
1 pkg. German chocolate (7 oz.)
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
Melt over low heat then beat until smooth. Let cool. Fold in 1 large carton of Cool Whip. Pour mixture into a prepared 9 inch graham cracker pie shell
You can make chocolate meringue cookies.
take 3 egg whites and a 1/2 cup of sugar and whip together until soft peaks form. Then add about a 1/4 cup of baking cocoa and FOLD into the egg whites, being careful not to whip so you dont deflate the egg whites.
Place drops of the mixture on a cookie sheet with foil and spray foil with non stick cooking spray, or rub it down with a bit of butter. Then bake cookies at 200 for about 30 minutes or until they start to brown.
You can also try to do a simple cherry pie. Store bought pie crust that you have to roll out yourself. Then add 1-2 cans of cherry pie filling depending on the depth of your dish, cover with another sheet of pie crust and bake until golden brown. I usually brush some milk onto the top crust and sprinkle some sugar to make it yummy. :)
Cheesecake always makes for a nice dessert.
