Question: CHEDDAR BROILED TOMATOES
3 large tomatoes, cut in half
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1-1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs
3/4 cup KRAFT Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1/2 tsp. paprika
PREHEAT broiler. Cut thin slice from bottom of each tomato half; discard. Place tomatoes on rack of broiler pan; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
MIX bread crumbs, cheese and butter until well blended; spoon evenly over tomatoes. Sprinkle with paprika.
BROIL, 3 to 5 inches from heat, 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

TOMATO, CHEESE 'N BACON BROIL

8 slices bacon, cut in half
8 slices process cheese
8 slices toast
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed tomato soup

Partially cook bacon. Place a slice of cheese on each slice of toast; spread with soup; cover edges completely. Top with bacon. Broil about 4 inches from heat until cheese melts. 8 open-face sandwiches.


BROILED BASIL TOMATOES

Select 6 large firm ripe tomatoes. Cut in half and place on a broiler pan with cut side up. Top each with some of the following mixture:

1 c. dry bread crumbs
4 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. minced fresh basil
1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
Freshly ground black pepper
Salt and garlic salt

Broil under flame until brown on top. Remove from oven. Reduce oven heat to 250 degrees. Place tomatoes in oven and cook about 20 minutes. Serves 6.

Ingredients for Broiled Tomatoes
6 tomatoes
Salt and pepper
Melted butter

Choose firm, round tomatoes, cut them into slices, three-quarters inch thick, dust each slice with salt and pepper, place in a greased broiler and broil over a moderate fire until tender.
Turn once carefully.
Add melted butter when sending to the table.

I've never heard or a broiled tomatoes recipe, sorry and good luck!!

Put your tomatoes, garlic cloves and chilies under the broiler, turning once
when done put it all in blender
add salt, blend as chunky/pureed as you want
add cilantro and pulse blender to chop it
pour into a bowl, add chopped onion (never pulse onion in blender, makes nasty chili)
eat with chips, on tacos, etc.
