How do you spiral cut a ham? Our ham is fully cooked but I noticed that it is not spiral cut.?!
Answers: I was considering going at it with my simple knife. I can't find anything on the internet. Should I attempt it?
Spiral cutting is a machine process done at the packing plant.
Hey, before Honeybaked, we ALL cut a ham from the bone the old fashioned way! Slice to the bone in layers, then cut across at the bone.
No. Not going to work without the right equipment. Normally one buys a ham already spiral cut.
i like cheese
you might want to try an electric knife but that seems like too much work, just buy your ham spiral cut from the store
you'll probably ruin it, and it will end up being dry.
a spiral cut is done on a special machine before its packaged.
Just slice it with your big knife. Spiral slice uses a special machine.
There is a special spiral cutting machine that was invented by the guy that started Honey Baked Hams.......so, unless you have the patience of Job and a scalpel sharp knife, you'll not be able to do a spiral sliced ham at home......I'm professionally trained, and tried it once.......Trust me on this one.....after that "episode" I had more cuts and messy kitchen than I care to remember......Enjoy!!

Ham is spiral cut on a special machine by the processor... it's a patented process.
Thats done by special machines before it gets delivered to the store. U doing it is not gonna happen. Just cut it with an electric knife, its super easy that way....no spirals, but its easy......I'm sure u know this, but u gotta heat it first, then let it rest for a few minutes, then cut it however u want it.
The "spiral cut" is done automatically (and very fast) on a machine, it would take you HOURS to do that yourself with a knife, and there's no reason to, anyway! Just "regular slice" it, cut the pieces off and arrange them on a nice plate...
