Urgent question re cooking instructions for plastic tray in oven...?!

Question: I've got a chicken roasting and the stuffing has to go in in a few minutes, it is in a black plastic tray and on the instructions it says to remove the paper from under the stuffing and put it back in the plastic tray, then place this on a baking tray in the oven. Is it really safe to do this, have they made a mistake on the instructions, or should I just cook the stuffing directly on the baking tray and throw the plastic one away?

Yes, I know it's a bit weird to be roasting a chicken at 1.00am!

We didn't know it was 1:00 a.m. It's okay to use the black tray, just don't exceed the baking temp--I think it's 350 degrees, but double check. You could also use a pyrex baking dish or other oven safe dish if you prefer, but the plastic tray will work just fine. Good luck.

The plastic is a heat resistant type and will not melt or burn.

Yes they do make some plastic trays for frozen TV dinners that go in the oven now...seems wierd to me too...but if it says that, then it should be ok.

Yes it is safe, I have bought one from walmart that is in a plastic tray. Just follow the instructions. :)

Follow the instructions.

Just follow the directions. All that stuff has to be tested before they are able to sell it.

no, the instructions are ok...
v similar to take away curry packaging...

bon appetit!

oh its obviously heat safe! its okay put it in the oven.. if something goes wrong sue someone

Putting things like plastic trays from things like tv dinners in the oven is fine. It sounds to me like its probably like the same thing, so it should be safe.

NOT WEIRD AT ALL,
BUT REMOVE ALL PLASTIC,
IT WILL IMPART A NASTY TASTE
TO YOUR STUFFING.

It should be ok to follow the directions as written, but if it makes you feel safer then put on the baking tray, but be sure to cover it with foil so that it doesn't dry out.

its fyn it must be special plastic, but if ur in doubt just scoop it out onto a normal plate, it will heat the same now im hungry lol enjoy ya supper/breakfast whatever lol x

did you figure it out?
im afraid i have no idea too

If it says to do that on the packet then it should be OK.
