1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

1/4 cup sour cream

Happy New Year!
Answers: For appetizers, a nice crudite' platter with dip is always nice, and a cheese and sausage tray with a variety of crackers. Or turn that into an antipasto tray with some olives, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, and such. Cold Shrimp cocktail is always a hit! I also love roasted asparagus with prosciutto - just lay cleaned asparagus spears in a single layer on a baking sheet. Toss with a bit of olive oil, kosher salt and pepper, plus some minced garlic if you like. Roast at 450 for about 12 minutes, let cool, and then wrap a thin slice of prosciutto around each stalk - everyone always goes crazy for those! Oh, and I love to do stuffed mushrooms, and an artichoke/spinach dip...here are some recipe ideas for those...

I am making a buffalo chicken dip.
4 boneless chicken breasts
2 8oz philly cream cheese
1 bottle of Franks hot sauce
1 big bottle of Ken's Buttermilk Ranch dressing
1 bag monteray cheese
boil chicken until cooked all the way through and cut up really small. Then put the chicken and the hot sauce in a bowl and cover and put in the fridge for about a half hour.
melt the ranch dressing and cream cheese together on low to med heat
then put the chicken, monteray cheese and cream cheese mix together in a pan and cook at 350 until all melted together.
Try a baked brie cheese (pronounced bree).
Take a round of brie. Unwrap it but do not remove the rind. Place the cheese in an oven safe dish and top it with sliced almonds or pesto sauce or use you imagination. Bake it at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes. While it is in the oven take a french baguette and slice it about 1/2 inch thick. Lay this on a baking sheet and put it in the oven until the bread starts to brown. When this comes out of the oven use a cheese ball knife and put some on the bread. OOH LA LA!
Well, all I'm making for NYE is appetizers, so this is what's on my menu:
-fried ravioli (dip fresh ravioli into egg, then seasoned breadcrumbs, and fry in a little olive oil until browned and crispy)
-mozzarella sticks
-potato skins (both of these are frozen from a box)
-pigs in blankets (cocktail weiners rolled in crescent roll dough and baked)
-sausage bread (brown bulk italian sausage, crumbling it. When cooled, mix with some shredded mozzarella cheese, some dried basil, and put into cresent roll dough that's been laid flat. Roll up into a loaf. Bake as roll package directs. You can also do it with pizza dough.)
-chicken bites (I'm cutting boneless skinless chicken breast into bite size pieces and breading and frying them. Serve with either honey mustard or BBQ sauce)
-fresh salsa and chips
-crudite' platter

O.K. here's something sweet... "Baked Cinnamon Twists" In the freezer section, buy a box of puff pastry sheets $4.00 - $5.00. Lay the the sheets out on a lightly floured surface. Let them thaw for approx. 30 min. Preheat oven to 400 deg. Cut the sheets into 1" strips. cut the strips in half to make them shorter. Melt 1 stick of butter in the micro. & mix sugar & cinnamon in another container. Dredge each strip in the butter & then in the sugar. Twist the strips 3X & lay on a cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for 12-15 min. They will be crispy, sweet & yummy. (Makes about 4 doz. not to mention economical!) Enjoy & Happy New Year!!
Use a package of sandwich sliced ham such as Oscar Meyer. Spread softened cream cheese on a ham slice like you would spread mayo on a sandwich. Place a long green onion across the corner edge of ham and roll up tight. Now slice it across ways every 1/2 inch or so to make bite size pieces. Stick with tooth pic for easy serving. They are very pretty, too.
