Is there a way to fix a stew or soup that has gotten too much black pepper in it?!

Question: Make a second batch, add NO black pepper, then combine the two batches.

Answers: Make a second batch, add NO black pepper, then combine the two batches.

Sure, add more soup or stew.

I've never heard of a trick to take it out like when you add too much salt but you can try and compliment it or cool it down with something. I guess it depends on what type of stew you are making but might I suggest adding a dollop of sour cream on top when serving it.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is to make it into more soup by adding more of everything else.

add water and other stuff to dilute it

Add 1 Liter of liquid, broth, juice or tomato juice. Depends on what type of stew broth your using beef, chicken or tomato. Also Add potatoes like boil them separate cut up in 6 pieces when they are fork tender it will absorb some of the pepper.

well i have 2 suggestions:

1. use a ladle, and ladle out some of the sauce/broth or w/e throw it away and add more broth/sauce.

2. and some sugar to sweeten it up!

you can't ever have too much pepper

Sugar pie's suggestion makes the most sense, but if that isn't reasonable, try adding flour, cheese, milk or some other dairy product if applicable... if it's tomato based and really can't handle that suggestion, add a couple of pieces of bread to the mix and let them sit on top... they'll soak in some of the liquid, then just add some water after removing the bread... the thought is that the bread will soak in the pepper from the top of your stew as pepper usually floats to the top. Chances are that there isn't too much pepper and you'll be just fine... serve some milk on the side or serve your stew on top of bread just in case.
