Can i stop cooking Chex Party Mix 1/4 way through and finish cooking it like 2 hours later?!

Question: And still have it taste the same. Chex mix cooks for an hour and you stop and stir every 15 minutes. i started cooking it and after 15 minutes my dad made me take it out so he could use the oven. if i put it back in like 2-3 hours later, will it still cook properly and taste the same. (so i'd cook it for 45 minutes, later.)

  • Yes, and I actually make mine in the microwave. Much quicker!

    From Chex website:
Microwave Directions: In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated. Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
