Can you eat an egg shell?!

Question: Just wondering!

Answers: Just wondering!

Of course you can; most of us already have at one time or another. The main ingredient in eggshells is calcium carbonate (the same brittle white stuff that chalk, limestone, cave stalactites, sea shells, coral, and pearls are made of). The shell itself is about 95% CaCO3 (which is also the main ingredient in sea shells). The remaining 5% includes calcium phosphate and magnesium carbonate and soluble and insoluble proteins.

Just like the fellow said, it's a matter of "taste". And..... CaCO3 is the main ingredient in many commercial antacids

yes actually they are good for you

you can eat anything, if you can get past the grossness factor. chew your eggshells, or they'll hurt your throat!

no but i eat balut, you should try it

Egg shell---a lot of protein and is useful as a fertiliser but don't put too much. I've eaten tiny bits of egg shell before but I'm still alive.

Hope this helps.

CRUNCHY! I think they have a lot of bacteria on them but I'm not sure

I wouldn't try it though

well i have heard that you can eat am egg shell

Yes, you can eat an eggshell, but inhaling an eggshell is different, because it might get stuck in your lungs.

Yeah everything is eatable man .. you eat whats inside the egg why not eat outside the egg xD .. naa you cant ... you bleed and then u bleed some more :-)

i guess but i dont think its gud 4 u. haha what a random question.

Egg shells contain many minerals that are good for you, they won't hurt you but I don't like crunchy egg sandwiches. Yes I have eaten many, my wife could not crack an egg into the frying pan without getting at least some of the shell. I eat them because I LOVE HER

only if you like gross things to eat

No , if u need calcium there are tablet ts ,or if you r hungry tell us then we can make a plan

You can eat anything. The real question is, will it be pleasant?

suppose you could i've cracked eggs many times and i'm sure i've left a piece of shell in the sometime....

Nasty crunchy and dry. Ate a whole egg when I was drunk once.
