Can I ask a stupid question about boiling chicken?!

No ..it'll be fine...but cook it slow so the outside doesn't over cook and get tough while the inside thaws out and is tender.

my experience with cooking frozen meat is that it usually comes out pretty tough.

No it doesn't have to be completely thawed out. At least wash out the inside of it and take out the package of heart, kidneys, etc. that they usually stuff inside it. If you're going to use the water you boil it in for anything else, like soup, then skim off the brown scum that floats to the top when you boil the chicken.

Good idea to thaw it out first - preferably in the fridge for safety. Since chicken is very susceptible to bacteria (starts when the bird is still alive), a meat thermometer is always a good idea. After the thermometer probe shows the middle of the bird has reached 165 degrees, there is nothing to worry about. Boiling a still frozen chicken can make the meat a bit rubbery. Oh, and be sure to keep the cooked chicken away from surfaces and utensils that were there before cooking. Don't want to re-introduce any of the original bacteria in to the bird.

yes you should make sure the chicken is completely thawed.
it cooks better.it is done when the blood is gone.

trust me: YOU WANT TO THAW IT....or it will be like shoe leather.

I would eat it either way, thawed before you boiled it or thawed while it was boiling. Why would you boil it though? If it's too cold outside to BBQ it, just bake it instead.
