INGREDIENTS

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1/2 cup butter, softened
* 2 eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup milk
* 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round pan.
2. Place flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter or margarine, eggs, vanilla, and milk into mixing bowl. Beat slowly to moisten, then beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth. Reserve 3/4 cup batter; pour the remainder into pan.
3. Stir cocoa into the 3/4 cup reserved batter. Drop by spoonfuls over top of white batter. Using a knife, swirl the cocoa batter into the white batter to incorporate it in a marble effect.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until an inserted wooden pick comes out clean.

Romanian Marble Cake
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1cup milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil (not olive)
- 2cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder + 1 pinch salt
-2 tsp vanilla
-peel from 2 lemons

- cocoa, about 3 Tablespoons (or more if you like it darker) for marbling

Preparation
Grease 2 loaf pans, and line with baking paper. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 350.

Put eggs in a bowl
add sugar, lemon peel, and vanilla

mix until smooth

add milk and oil

add flour, baking powder, salt (which have been mixed together in a bowl)

pour into molds, leaving a bit of batter for mixing with cocoa

mix the remaining batter with cocoa and pour over the rest

add nuts, if desired

Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes (toothpick should come out clean, if not, then leave a few more minutes)

Orange Chocolate Marble Cake with Chocolate or Orange Glaze


1 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs, separated
2-1/2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 cup milk
1/4 tsp. grated orange peel
1/4 tsp. orange extract
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 cup water

Chocolate Glaze Topping:
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tbsp. soft butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2-4 tsp. milk

Orange Glaze Topping:
2 Cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. soft butter or margarine
2-4 tbsp. orange juice
1-2 tsp. grated orange peel

Cream butter or margarine; add sugar gradually, beating until fluffy. Beat in egg yolks, one at a time, until light and fluffy. Add sifted flour, baking powder, and salt, a third at a time, alternately with milk until blended. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

Spoon 1/2 of batter into a second bowl; stir in orange peel and orange extract.

Blend cocoa and water in a cup: Fold into batter in first bowl.

Spoon batters, alternating layers of chocolate and white, at least 2 times, into greased Bundt Pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 50- 60 minutes or until cakes tests done. Cool in pan 10-15 minutes; turn on wire rack or serving plate to complete cooling.

Top with Chocolate Glaze:
In small bowl, combine sugar, cocoa, and butter. Add vanilla; add milk gradually to achieve desired consistency and stir until smooth.

OR

Orange Glaze:
In small bowl, combine sugar and butter. Add orange juice gradually to achieve desired consistency and stir until smooth. Add peel.

If you deside not to glaze the cake,it's very good served with homemade lemon curd or lemon pudding.

Marble Bundt Cake

ingredients:

6 eggs
1 ? cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup oil
1 teaspoon baking powder
? cup liquid marble chocolate



directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 or 12 cup bundt pan.
Mix eggs, sugar until well combined and light in color. Add vanilla and oil and combine. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until just combined. Pour half of batter into bundt pan. Add ? cup liquid marble to second half of batter and pour into pan. Chocolate will marbleize. Bake for 1 hour.
